It has been five-plus years of contemplation, questions, surveys, focus groups, attending to the global growth of the Applied Educational Neuroscience certification, tears of frustration, worry, excitement, and joy while learning how to regulate my own nervous system through this journey!
Today, December 15, 2025, the new Master’s Program in Trauma Responsive Teaching and Leadership at Butler University College of Education has launched!
It is ready for all to explore! We created this program for all youth-serving adults, and it is the only “Trauma Master’s” program rooted in Applied Educational Neuroscience.
I want to deeply thank Dr. Nick Abel, my graduate dean, who has encouraged me and been my co-regulator during this process. I have honestly learned so much and have never encountered anything more difficult, mind-stretching, and rewarding!
I am especially grateful to Susan Driscoll and the Crisis Prevention Institute(CPI) for their support and partnership!
Taking a deep breath today, I realize this program was birthed because of all of you!
